A self-paced course published by WebJunction and developed by LibraryU, a program of the Illinois State Library and the regional library systems. The course is estimated to take an hour to complete and covers:

  • The reasons for weeding the library collection.
  • Finding print and online resources to help in planning an effective weeding program.
  • Developing a weeding plan for the library which includes a schedule, criteria for specific subject areas and material types, and procedures
